Čáslav

Čáslav, a picturesque town founded in 1264 by King Přemysl Otakar II, is a great destination for every history and gastronomy lover. The tower of the Church of St. Peter and Paul, where the skull of the famous Hussite leader Jan Žižka was found, offers a magnificent view of the town. Architecture lovers will also appreciate the 19th century synagogue and the Neo-Renaissance Town Hall.

Čáslav is also the birthplace of the famous director Miloš Forman, which adds to its cultural significance. While walking around the town, you can also discover the remains of medieval fortifications or stop by the birthplace of director Miloš Forman. A longer walk will take you to the first republican swimming pool Vodranty.

Burger lovers can indulge in original street food in the town centre or enjoy a pleasant meal in a restaurant on the square.
